Flash mobs – the dance version

a group of people who agree to come together suddenly in a place and do something funny or silly and then move away

Everyone knows the phenomenon flashmobs. At least, I think most of you know. ‘A flash mob (or flashmob) is a large group of people who assemble suddenly in a public place, perform an unusual action for a brief time, then quickly disperse,’ as Wikipedia tells us. I really like this, it’s so cool to do that! I definetely want to participate someday, dude!

What I wanted to share with you, is the flashmobs with dancing. The people who suddenly stand still in the middle of the road are so awesome, but people who start dancing and loads of people who join them is even better!

Here’s a video of the 24th anniversary of Oprah Winfrey, where the Black Eyed Peas were performing. So amazing! Watch the woman in the beginning haha!

There’s no place like London

I’ve visited London a few weeks ago, and it was lovely. the weather was beautiful and just everything was perfect. I love London so much. I’ve visited it now 4 times and I still haven’t had enough :) I could visit it a million times! Here are some pictures, they’re also on my Flickr account. Enjoy!

Gives me hope

GivesMeHope.com is a very optimistic site. As they say theirselves: "GMH is where people share with the world their most hopeful, uplifting moments and allow others to draw strength from their experiences." 'They' and 'theirselves' are Gaby Montero and Emerson Spartz, aged 21 and 22, the founders of GMH.

GMH is a response to the famous site FMyLife.com, where people share stories explaning how their days were completely ruined.

Today, I received my passport in the mail. They got my birthdate wrong. Then I picked up my birth certificate that I had sent in with the application. Turns out my parents have been celebrating my birthday on the wrong day for 16 years. FML

FML is lovely, sometimes you can't stop laughing, but it can also be a downer. GMH is only about the happy things in life, and way more positive. Let's give an example:

Today, my teacher was telling us a story about her friend's adopted son and how he got picked on for it. One day at school a boy went up to him and said, "I came from my mommy's tummy, where did you come from?" knowing the boy was adopted. His response? "I came from my mommy's heart." He was 6 years old at the time. This GMH

Loveley, isn't it? I think it's worth reading all the stories. Recently, they've opened a youtube account and I'd like to share their first video with you. It's made by Dylan Spartz (yes, brother of Emerson, the founder).

So this is my first official post right here (I'm sorry for your comment Ronald, it's gone as I deleted my pre-post ö), and I want to give you a warm welcome. So get that big cup of hot chocolate and read along.

My name is Saskia and this is my brand new blog 'Love from a hero'. I've had a Livejournal community before which was also called 'Love from a hero', but I wasnt'very active over there. I hope I can give you more updates right here :) I intend to give you updates on funny facts, nice things happening in my life, show you some photos, whatever you can think of! I'm about to show you some rock'n'roll, haha.
